I'm feeling very sad at the moment. Long story, but I thought I'd share it.

I was watching Mission Impossible III when my dad told me to pause it and come out the backyard. I did and I saw that he was holding a baby pigeon in his hand. He said he picked it up just before the dog did. Then we debated for a while on what to do with it. It was a very cute little bird. Very young and its little tufts of...what do you call it....they're not quiet feathers....anyway, they weren't quite grown yet. We put it on the ground and watched it hobble around. I would've thought it was cute because it stumbled every few steps it took and tried to prop itself up on its little wings. We kept an eye on the dogs. I wanted keep it and feed it but dad said it was impossible. I'm no bird expert. Dad wanted to "put it out of its misery". I firmly objected to that. We looked in the trees in my backyard and found a nest about 6 or 7 metres up in my macadamia nut tree. I tried to climb up to the nest but the leaves were really prickly and I kept losing my footing.

Now, we just have a box with some straw in it and we put the bird in that. I have no idea what to do with it. I took some pictures of it as it walking. Probably its first steps. I'm surprised it survived the fall from its nest. It's a little pigeon. I don't know what to do with the pictures. Is it...like...voyuerism?

Poor little bird.

I'll think of something to do with the little bugger.

I have to watch the rest of MI III now.
